Contemporary Ukrainian Furniture Design
FAINA’s concept of “live minimalism” is characterized by pairing laconic silhouettes with materials that seem to breathe. The design collaborates with nature, aiming to leave a cultural footprint rather than an environmental one.
Central to contemporary Ukrainian design’s philosophy is the manifest of Vital – Naïve – Wild. “Vital” speaks to the life force in raw matter; “Naïve” honors primal, archetypal forms and disarming sincerity; “Wild” preserves the untamed spirit of the land. Together, these values bring warmth and humanity to minimalism, shaping pieces that feel alive — objects with spirit, memory, and quiet strength.
Amid profound cultural change, FAINA was founded to reconnect contemporary practice with folk codes and ancestral crafts, translating these into contemporary volumes for today’s interiors. FAINA’s designer furniture carries the story of the place, characterized by its sculptural, calm, and profoundly tactile nature.
Materials We Use for Our Furniture
FAINA’s approach to materials is unique and precise. At its core is our signature material called ZTISTA — a bio-based compound of cellulose, clay, flax fiber, and wood chips, sealed with a biopolymer. ZTISTA is hand-sculpted, preserving the maker’s gesture and tactile irregularity. Many pieces incorporate discreet, upcycled steel frameworks for added strength. We pair this material with smoked or clear glass and natural textiles like linen and wool to achieve a palette that feels both elemental and luxurious. The result is furniture that looks quiet but offers a rich tactile experience — alive, enduring, and aligned with luxury ethos.
Modern Furniture for Every Space
Our range brings sculptural silhouettes, tactile calm, and refined proportions to any rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and public spaces. With hard-wearing surfaces, softened edges, and generous legroom, every piece strikes a balance between toughness and comfort — bringing personality back to any interior and welcoming spaces to look put together at first glance.
Living Room Furniture
A living room could feel both composed at a glance and generous in use — a sanctuary for daily rituals and conversation. Our curation favors sculptural silhouettes and tactile calm: low, architectural sofas that ground the space; animistic armchairs, monolithic coffee tables. Every element speaks the language of live minimalism — quiet luxury, refined proportions, and materials chosen to represent the character.
Dining Room
Dining is a daily ceremony. The quality and aesthetic of the table and the comfort of the chair are crucial. The way light glides across stone or wood also shapes the experience. Typical dining sets can feel due to their defined function, our designer furniture offers a refreshing alternative. We restore personality with tables in wood or clay composite, paired with ergonomically tuned chairs and stools. Our designs feature resilient surfaces, softened edges, and generous legroom. Our dining sets ensure every gathering is thoughtfully designed and feels exclusive.
Bedroom Furniture
The design of a bedroom should be conducive to deep rest, and should be characterised by privacy, softness, and clarity of line. The materials, acoustics, and lighting are as important as the form. The role of the bed in dictating the prevailing mood is a significant factor in the uniformity of many bedrooms. The emphasis on comfort becomes the overarching design criterion, superseding other considerations. Our beds are characterized by their sculptural and modern design, with fluid contours that evoke a quiet installation, with a timeless and welcoming aesthetic that lends itself to integration into a variety of luxury interior settings.
Public Zone Furniture
Crafted for presence. Our furniture excels in public zones, executive suites, and any environment where status must be unmistakable. Sculptural forms and noble materials — solid woods, refined textiles, and signature accents — project quiet authority. The result is durable, elegant designer furniture for reception areas, meeting rooms, and private offices where identity and prestige are paramount.
Our Furniture Collection
Furniture for every room — handmade, built to last. Our line has one message: sculptural shapes, blunted edges, and materials chosen for richness and longevity, so each piece is yours alone without disrupting the continuity of a uniform, modern aesthetic.
Tables
Our tables are conceived as architectural anchors — sculptural, edited forms that carry a room with quiet authority. Each piece is made to order and built from materials chosen for their depth and longevity. Whether you choose the round or oval ZTISTA dining table with its gently irregular, living texture, the monolithic KOROTUN coffee table, or the organic SONIAH side table, the language remains consistent: contemporary, collectible, and handcrafted. Dimensions and finishes can be tailored to the project, ensuring each table feels both exquisitely exclusive and precisely yours.
Seating
The chairs, armchairs, benches and modular sofas are engineered to encourage prolonged use, with supportive proportions, softened radii and upholstery that breathes. The upholstery is composed of a range of materials, including linen and wool, as well as COM. The TOPTUN dining chair is characterized by its soft geometry, the ZTISTA chair is notable for its sculpted presence, the GRUN' armchair is distinguished by its form and dewlit ears, and the PLYN armchair and bench exhibit fluid continuity. Collectively, these pieces embody a unified ethos, reflecting distinct attitudes within a cohesive aesthetic.
Beds
Our assortment spans upholstered beds with softly rounded, sculptural forms and grounded, low-profile bases; most sit close to the floor on hidden plinths for a calm, luxurious silhouette. The available sizes comprise EU, US Queen/King, and AU Single/Double/Queen/King, ensuring compatibility with local mattresses. The upholstery has been meticulously selected, comprising linen or wool. For a truly bespoke piece, the textile palette is available for selection, or alternatively, the COM/COL option can be specified.
Storage
Such clarity starts with storage. Our credenzas, sideboards, dressers, and wardrobes also have flexible interiors - adjustable shelves, full-extension drawers. Exteriors are all about proportion: quiet fronts, accurate reveals, and materials, which introduce tactile appeal without the clutter. It is modern furniture which clears up so beautifully.
