"faina live design" nomination

Faina Live Design
To mark the 10th anniversary of her brand FAINA, Victoria Yakusha — one of the leading female voices in contemporary Ukrainian design and named among "Dezeen’s Top 50 Most I Women in Architecture and Design 2024" — announces a new award category in product design. This initiative reflects her commitment to bold and meaningful design that unites cultural heritage, the designer’s personal vision, traditional techniques, and a contemporary perspective.
“This nomination is deeply personal to me; it celebrates the kind of design where I feel my strongest passion: a passion for life. It is design that pulses with the spirit of freedom, naivety, and wildness,” says Victoria Yakusha.
The Faina Live Design Award celebrates design that resonates with the spirit of freedom, naivety, and wildness. Vital – Naïve – Wild — this is the ethos behind the award, which opens new horizons for architects and designers who think not only in forms and concepts but also in emotions and sensations.
Since 2014, when Victoria transitioned from architecture to object design, she has been exploring the deep roots of her identity — as a Designer, a Ukrainian, a Woman, and a Mother. In interviews, she often mentions the driving force behind her work: a free, intuitive, and life-affirming approach that stems from a profound connection with nature, authenticity in the creative process, and respect for cultural heritage. Through the Faina Live Design Award, she invites designers to engage in a deeper, more emotional, and honest dialogue with materials, form, and society.

Eligibility and Prize
In 2025, submissions are open exclusively to Ukrainian product designers within the framework of the ARTSPACE 2025 Interior Award, a cultural initiative supporting Ukrainian designers and architects while strengthening national identity through contemporary creative practices. The award will expand to the international design community in the future. Participants are invited to submit physically realized objects with a strong narrative presence, and the winner will receive a €1,000 cash prize as well as the opportunity to present their work to an international jury.
