GRUN Fringed is a unique reinterpretation of Victoria Yakusha’s iconic GRUN armchair, created for Design Miami 2026. Its broad, grounded base and rising “antennae” connect the weight of the earth with an instinctive reach towards the sky.
Hundreds of leather strips, individually cut and applied by hand in overlapping rows, transform its sculptural silhouette into a richly layered surface. Uneven edges, varied lengths and loose ends give the fringe a raw, unruly character, evoking the irregular rhythms of nature and a sense of emerging chaos. These visible variations reveal the handwork behind the piece and define its individual expression.
Only one GRUN Fringed will be made. The exact piece exhibited at Design Miami 2026 is available for acquisition, with no further editions to follow.
