The "Land of Light” by Victoria Yakusha was featured at Design Miami 2023

The Ukrainian designer Victoria Yakusha showcased her latest collection, “Land of Light”, at Design Miami 2023. The exhibition, which aligns with the fair’s curatorial theme “Where We Stand,” is a testament to Yakusha’s commitment to sustainable design as a tool for positive social change.

Yakusha’s collection explores the interplay of four mythical creatures that guide a person through the dark times. Crafted from eco-friendly materials, including Yakusha’s signature ZTISTA—a blend of cellulose, clay, flax fibre, wood chips, and biopolymer—the collection not only represents a sustainable approach to design but also but also weaves a narrative of deep connection to the earth

Despite its naive form, the collection carries a profound, thought-provoking intent, mirroring the purity and hope that Yakusha aims to share with the world.

Victoria Yakusha’s participation in the panel discussion “Healing Through Design” further highlighted the transformative power of design. The discussion, moderated by Design Miami’s Curatorial Director Anna Carnick, also featured prominent figures such as South African ceramicist Andile Dyalvane and Nigerian designer Nifemi Marcus-Bello
