New York, NY (2026) — For its first US flagship, Ukrainian fine jewelry house GUZEMA turned to designer and curator Victoria Yakusha. The new SoHo interior at 112 Wooster Street treats retail less as commerce than as sculpture, with rounded forms and displays that seem to emerge from the walls.
"My work here was closer to that of a sculptor," says Victoria Yakusha. "We didn't want the feeling of traditional retail. We wanted something more intimate."
Founded in Kyiv in 2016 by former fashion editor Valeriya Guzema, the house built its name on refined minimalism. Yakusha’s first New York retail interior carries that restraint into a nearly monochromatic space of mineral-toned plaster that reads as a single sculptural composition. Jewelry is presented within recessed niches along the walls, while monolithic islands upholstered in dove-gray suede, each rounded like a river stone, anchor the center of the boutique.
The same sculptural language continues in the main vitrine. Rather than resting on conventional jewelry trays, GUZEMA's pieces are presented on hand-sculpted vessels commissioned for the boutique. Paired with Yakusha's signature SONIAH floor lamp, the vitrine becomes a sculptural installation in its own right.
Throughout the space, collectible pieces from FAINA, Yakusha's own design brand, sit alongside bespoke works by contemporary artisans, combining the refined with the artisanal, the kind of balance Victoria loves to strike.
At the rear of the boutique, a private salon is designed for one-on-one appointments. A wall of glass blocks filters natural light into the room, while a curved sofa, ottoman, and sculptural sconce, all by FAINA, sit alongside a burnished-metal table, creating a quieter setting for viewing the collection. Silver tableware by Natalia Criado completes the space.
